I don’t have time to setup MDT and even if I did none of these computers are on a domain. They’re all on a separate network and am not going to waste time setting up a whole new domain and MDT. The computers will remain unpatched. Microsoft has once again made a stupid decision that will compromise security. I know you’re not happy with the way things have turned out, but it’s a real reality.
If we need to manage those computers more efficient in the future, spend time to setup a domain environment is necessary which can associate devices in different location, different network. Also for management those device such as update, upgrade, deploy and so on, management tool is also necessary to make work more efficient. But if you are not prefer to use them, the measure we could do is update them one by one. Or we could create a script to execute it on each device to complete update action.

Ask a new question. This solution applied to a Lenovo all-in-one – but may be adaptable to other PCs. My Lenovo was running version and all attempts during the last couple of years to upgrade beyond had failed. There are many posts and articles detailing solutions – refresh, reset, clean boot, clean intall, Windows Media Creation Tool, manufacturers reset drive etc. I spent many hours trying all suggested solutions! Error codes and Microsoft troubleshooter.
I knew that a clean install would wipe all of my data, but I tried that “just in case”. It didnt help with the Windows problem – but thankfully it did prove that I could restore my PC perfectly using a backup made with Macrium Free Edition which was excellent.
As a precaution, I used Macrium Free Edition to make two full backups on two separate external drives. Within device manager, I updated the driver shown underneath firmware to the latest recommended one. I had previously looked. I had also run a Lenovo utility which claimed perhaps wrongly. I double-clicked on the downloaded BIOS update file, heeded the warnings. Within five minutes, my PC rebooted at its normal startup screen.
I applied all windows 10 updates “as offered” – this took several hours. I am now up-to-date on Windows 10, version 21H1 and expecting. Please note that I have no connection whatsoever with the suppliers of Macrium.

Error codes and Microsoft troubleshooter were quite useless. I had previously looked through the list of drivers – none had error markers in the list.
I had also run a Lenovo utility which claimed perhaps wrongly that I had all up-to-date drivers. I double-clicked on the downloaded BIOS update file, heeded the warnings not to switch off. I am now up-to-date on Windows 10, version 21H1 and expecting to be “offered” the feature upgrade to 22H2 soon.
