Windows 10 was supposed to be the last version of Windows, but they’ve just hidden the product name as a version number rather than the headline on the box.
I call BS. I remember in sitting in my parents’ spare room watching the HDD on their PC spin while it did whatever the IT profession deemed it was necessary for it to be doing, rather than helping me achieve things. A quarter of a century later, I am still going to have to waste my time watching their month old machine do a massive system update rather than something useful.
Is the IT industry likely to reach any degree of professionalism before I die? Using last Windows 10 Update Release on February the 27 , finally , i been able to update to last Release. Enjoy people, Microsoft let me Update their system while telling me i will not have any support later then June I recently attempted to install the windows 10 version , updating from version It appears that the install completed, but it boots up very slowly and when I sign in the desktop is not visible, only wallpaper and it never really seems to completely sign in.
I am not an expert by any means and my laptop is about 8 years old. Hoping you might be up for helping me get it going. I briefly read thru this thread and it looks like doing a clean install is the way to go, but that is a bit intimidating, as i do not want to lose any data.
I believe i have everythimg backed up om an external hard drive, but even so, not sure how to proceed. Before moving to windows 10 I just updated my hardware. So if you are running , my personal suggestion is to stay like this and do the upgrade when you will upgrade hardware too.
That’s also the only answer, it seems. I have three different computers with Windows 10 that all do this. I was hoping to just be able to update and solve the problem, but “just updating” isn’t a solution apparently. For years my computers worked fine, but then they all “updated” into uselessness. Because of how fruitless other solutions have been I’ll try this one, but holding my breath is something I don’t do when it comes to anything Windows related.
One morning I had just woken up, and discovered, after loading windows to login screen it freezes after seconds at halt. I have tried to install windows from fresh, install different drivers. Nothing helps. Only removing the drivers, and keeping “Microsoft Basic Display Adapter”. All the drivers are up to date. And seem like something wrong with video card. Also when the windows is loading, prior to show login screen, I have a black splash screen with glitches on it lasts about a second.
Followed suggested Win10 V install recommendation and had same problem as I encountered the last three times I tried to do so from “Settings”. I ended up backing up all of my data on an external drive and doing a clean install of Win 10 Ver Everything worked very well after that. Short answer: No That’s also the only answer, it seems. After updating to latest , my GTX has stopped working. I haven’t overclocked, temperature is fine, thermal paste has been recently replaced. Any one has any idea how to fix it?
